Harmonic Joint Modules

What Is a Harmonic Joint Module?

A harmonic joint module integrates a precision harmonic reducer, brushless servo motor, absolute encoder, servo driver and brake into a single compact unit. The harmonic reducer uses a flexible spline and wave generator mechanism to achieve near-zero backlash and high reduction ratios in a single stage — making it the preferred choice for applications requiring extreme positioning accuracy.

GTIT PRO-2 Series:

GTIT’s PRO-2 series harmonic joint modules cover 9 model identifiers (RI30 to RI110) across 12 specifications, spanning a torque range of 5.9–900 N·m. Each module is a fully integrated mechatronic unit — motor, reducer, encoder, driver and brake pre-matched and tested as one system, eliminating multi-vendor integration complexity.

FAQ:

Q: What is the advantage of harmonic vs. planetary joint modules?

A: Harmonic joints offer lower backlash (near-zero) and higher single-stage reduction ratios, ideal for applications requiring extreme positioning accuracy. Planetary joints offer higher torque capacity and better shock resistance for heavy-duty applications.

Q: Do you provide CAD models and integration support?

A: Yes. 3D CAD models, technical drawings and application-specific integration guidance are provided at no additional charge.
